I’m Dr. Deepal Rai, a Lifestyle Medicine GP, Transformational Coach, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Practitioner with over 20 years of medical experience.

I believe the key to lasting health and wellbeing lies in a whole-person, holistic approach — one that considers not just symptoms, but the full context of your life.

I trained at Imperial College London, where I was awarded a Scholarship Prize for best performance during the year. I went on to gain Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).

After relocating to Australia, I experienced the challenge of balancing a demanding career with raising two young children — and slowly found myself neglecting my own health and wellbeing.

“I made a conscious choice for change. I created time for ‘me’ and focused on the things that mattered. The benefits were transformational and rippled throughout my life.”

I began early morning beach walks, tried to be more present with my family, and reconnected with the simple joys of everyday life.

One of the biggest shifts was in my relationship with food — what once felt like a chore became a source of nourishment, connection, and joy. I discovered the power of food as medicine and how profoundly it influences our health, mood, and longevity.

I love being in the kitchen with my children, teaching them to enjoy real food and develop healthy habits that will stay with them for life.

The importance of family and social connection eventually brought us back to the UK, where I was inspired to rethink how I wanted to live and work.

“I wanted to move beyond the limits of a 10-minute, symptom-focused appointment and offer truly whole-person care that addresses root causes, not just quick fixes.”

This journey led me to Lifestyle Medicine, a natural, sustainable approach that aligns with how I try to live — and how I now practise. I see its impact in my patients every day. To deepen my holistic approach, I also trained as a Transformational Coach and ACT Practitioner.

What I love most about being a doctor is the deep connection I share with my patients, and the privilege of supporting meaningful change.

I offer a safe, person-centred, and compassionate space, where we work collaboratively to:

  • Prevent or optimise chronic conditions

  • Support mental, emotional and social wellbeing

  • Empower you to live a more vibrant, balanced life — not just for today, but to support healthy ageing and extend your healthspan
